I absolutely adore books and I want to share my best ever books with you! Here are my top ten to get you started!

Emily's Top Ten:
1. Ruby Redfort series (6 books)
2. How to train your dragon series (12)
3. Harry Potter series (7 books)
4. Goth Girl series (4 books)
5. Dork diaries (24 books)
6. Land of stories (6 books)
7. A wrinkle in time
8. Diary of a wimpy kid (23 books)
9. Enid Blyton's Adventure series (8)
10. Enid Blyton's Mystery series (18)
Below is a bit about each of the books. I hope that you will love them as much as I do! Keep reading!
1. Ruby Redfort series by Lauren Child

These are my all time favourite books! They are about Ruby Redfort, girl detective. In the world of mystery, nothing is what it seems... Who is your friend and who is your enemy???
These are by Lauren Child who wrote Clarice Bean and Charlie and Lola. The Ruby Redfort books are actually for teenagers, but I got hooked!!
This is the first; the second, take your last breath; third, catch your death; fourth, feel the fear; fifth, pick your poison; and sixth, blink and you die.
They must be my favourite for a reason, they are soooooo good!!!!!
2. How to Train your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell:

This is the first book in the series and introduces Hiccup, who they call the 'viking runt.' This series follows Hiccup and his two best friends as he sets off on a quest he did not even know he was on, challenged by his evil arch enemy, Alvin, to save the entire two races of humans and dragons alike. Hiccup might be small, but only he can make a difference.
These books are absolutely brilliant and I couldn't stop laughing. They are so well written that you can actually see it happening before your eyes. They have the most hilarious illustrations too!
For more info on these books, see the author's website: https://www.cressidacowell.co.uk/books/how-to-train-your-dragon/
3. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling:

These probably need no introduction because this is the most famous series in the world. My favourite character is Hermione Granger, mostly because of her love of books!
If you don't like Harry Potter, there is something siriusly ron with you! They are not one bit scary and when I read them I can actually see it all happening before my eyes, it is so detailed! (This is not because I've watched the movies - I read the books first.)
I INSIST you read this!

4. Goth Girl books by Chris Riddell

There are 4 books in this series and they follow Ada Goth in her adventures in her giant home. Making friends and solving mysteries, Ada must try to win her father and bring him happiness. Ever since Lady Goth died, Lord Goth has moped around the house, refusing to see Ada because she is the spitting image of her mother. Ada, however, has her own problems. Maltravers is planning an indoor hunt that takes them onto the roof, but since her mother died on the roof, she knows her father couldn't withstand it. However, with her father refusing to see her, how will she warn him?
These were a thrilling read and I didn't want to put them down. I only did to pick up the next one! I especially liked the author's way of taking things and changing them to make them his own. Brilliant!

5. Dork Diaries books by Rachel Renee Russell

This story is about Nikki Maxwell and is the first of many. Nikki is the only person at school who doesn't have a phone and longs to be as cool Mackenzie Hollister.
After a long term of putting up with Mackenzie, Nikki finds a way to become even cooler than Mackenzie.
But will she enjoy it?
And what Nikki wants most of all is to win the art competition and beat Mackenzie. First prize is enough money to buy *the* latest phone model. But how, when Nikki is off sick and her Dad accidentally destroyed her painting?
These books represent Middle school life so well and the artwork is fab! I didn't want to put it down! If you like 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' and 'Dear Dumb Diary' you will LOVE this!!!
The Dork Diaries website is: http://dorkdiaries.com/category/dorkworld/mybooks/
6. The Land of Stories (6 books) by Chris Colfer

These stories are one of my favourite series EVER! These are about two twins named Alex and Conner and their life when their dad dies. The first book is when they fall into the world of fairy tales. The next books are about their further inter-dimentional adventures in the fairy tale world and other worlds.
I absolutely love reading about the twins. They are so similar but complete opposites. Alex is created from Chris's sensible side and Conner from his funny, making friends side as you can see from the below link.
Ever since I was introduced to their world, I was addicted! I couldn't stop! I hope you like them as much as I do. Actually, change that - you will!!! See http://thelandofstories.com for more!
7. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

This classic follows Meg, her brother, Charles Wallace, and their best friend, Calvin. Together with the 3 Mrs W's, Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Who and Mrs Which, they must brave the dangers of time and space to rescue Meg's father.
I love reading about Meg. She is so persistent and Charles Wallace is a kid full of surprises. But then the adventure takes a twist, and they have to rescue something much, much more than her father...
This is wonderfully written and I seemed to be living in it. As always, the book is better than the movie!
8. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

You've probably heard of these books and they're really good! They represent middle school life sooooo well! They're really funny, and made me laugh soooooo much!
I really like Greg's over enthusiastic mother and the way she totally embarrasses Greg and princes Manny.
This is a must read and is soooooo good!!!

9. The Adventure Series by Enid Blyton

The adventure series follows four children and a parrot, Kiki, as they travel all over Great Britain having adventures.
Enid Blyton has a wonderful way with words. These are some of the best books I've ever read!
I loved travelling with Jack, Philip, Lucy-Ann, Dinah and Kiki. I have read all but the last one, so I can't wait to see what happens!!
I strongly recommend these but it comes with a warning - if you start these, you won't be able to stop!!!

10. The Mystery Series by Enid Blyton

This is yet another masterpiece by Enid Blyton. It follows little Bets, Pip, Daisy, Larry and Frederick Algernon Trotteville (Fatty) and dog, Buster, as they try and solve mysteries before the local policeman, Mr Goon, does because, since he is rather dim, he will catch and jail the wrong people.
I have read all these books, and about a million times too, as probably only my BFF will believe, but it is true!!!
Trust me, you will get hooked!!!!!!!!
The Enid Blyton website will tell you all about these as well as all of her other great books like the Famous Five and the Secret Seven series: https://www.enidblyton.co.uk.
Maybe we will see an update on your favourites soon?
Yes!!! They are very different now from when I wrote that, even though I still enjoy them all.😸
Hi Emily. Have your top ten books changed any since last year? I'm sure it's difficult for you to narrow it down to 10 books since you love reading so much. I'm sure you've read a great many books since last year. :-)
