‘The White Giraffe’ by Lauren St John - A Review by Thomas

The White Giraffe is a wonderful book which I decided to write a review about. This girl called Martine lives in London with her parents but they die in a house fire. So she is sent to live with her Gran. She didn’t even know she had a Gran. Her Gran lives in South Africa on a game reserve. In the reserve there are leopards, snakes, elephants and other animals. Martine hears about the legend of another animal that is supposed to live there -a white giraffe. One night she sneaks into the reserve on her own. She meets the white giraffe and they become friends. Martine is supposed to have special ability to understand animals and she is part of the legend. The book is about their friendship and at the end about how she rescues the white giraffe and saves his life. It is a truly magical book.
