A Shivering Story

Out of all the books I got for Christmas, this was a definite favourite! It's by one of everyone’s favourite authors, David Walliams of course! It’s his newest book, which just came out, called THE ICE MONSTER. It isn’t actually about an ice monster though; it’s about a woolly mammoth, as you will see by the front cover.

The book is extremely hilarious. I especially love this part:

“HELLO RAJ!” shouted Dotty.

The man smiled and waved.

“Oh, hello Miss Dotty, my favourite customer! I have some half-chewed liquorice on special offer today!”

“I CAN’T STOP RAJ!”

“And feel free to come back with that huge furry long-nosed donkey of yours for a sugar lump!”

“SHE’S A MAMMOTH!”

“She’s very big for a moth!”

Still the mammoth galloped off through the snow.’

This book made me laugh all the way through and I was very upset when I finished it because I wanted it to just keep going.

The Ice Monster is about a mammoth that some arctic explorers found encased in a giant block of ice. But when a little girl called Elsie thinks it looks lonely and tries to bring it back to life with a lightning storm, chaos strikes and adventures begin. It’s a great book and I really recommend it, especially if you love David Walliams books.
